Live. A band from boredom.
A remedy against boredom
Four men, four friends, living in a small town called York in the state of
Pennsylvania in the USA. They're still in highschool, but in their spare time they
have nothing special to do. The decide to start a band. Chad Taylor, Patrick
Dahlheimer, Chad Gracey and Edward Kowalczyk are: Public Affection
As a small band they make an albem called "Dead of a Dictionary". Still they aren't
really popular with a big audience. They just play at little parties and 'gigs' like that.
They decide to change their name. Public Affection is: LIVE.
Named Live Chad, Patrick, Chad and Ed keep playing birthday
and schoolparties. Until they are discovered. They produce their first
album: "Four Songs". This album was only released in the York-area,
and the original is hard to get. But a copy of "Four Songs" is given with
a limited edition of "Throwing Copper".

1991. The year Live releases a new album, for a larger audience. Live
managed to get a record-deal at the "radio-active" label, a label that
holds more great american bands. But "Mental jewelry isn't the success
they hoped for. Still, they are satisfied with what they got. The album is
selling and they are touwing small clubs throughout thr USA. The shows
are a success. When the tour is over Live start to record their next album, of which they
wrote the bigger part while touring.
In 1994 "Throwing Copper" is released. The first track to become single
is "Lightning Crashes". The single gets a reasonable amount of airplay
in the USA on local radiostations, even some of the country-wide stations
discover the catchy tune. Outside the USA the sales keep low. This
changes when the next single is released. It is called "I Alone", and
this single is a hit when it is released. The highest places of the charts
all around the world are kept. Live Mania has begun. "Throwing Copper"
must be produced fast to keep up with the demand. The album is sold
out in many stores. The third single becomes another smash hit: "Selling
the Drama" also ends high up in the charts around the world. Live has
finally made it to the big audience.
After this it gets a little quiet around Live. They are busy touring, and
just as with "Throwing Copper", during the tour the band is also busy
writing new songs. The new album is due for 1997.

In the meanwhile Live has gained a reasonable amount of die hard
fans. They start an official fanclub named "Friends of Live".
Early 1997 "Lakini's Juice" is released as first single of the new
album that is going to be called "Secret Samadhi". It becomes a hit the
moment they release it, and the album is sold out before the release.
The next single, "Freaks", goes well, but not as well as "Lakini's Juice".
The shows live is doing are on rather 'small' locations, giving it a
very intimate sphere, are sold out very soon. The large summer
festivals like Pinkpop and Torhout/Werchter are visited and a great
success. Live show the public that they can perform for huge crowds
as well as for small crowds. Still they prefer playing the small crowds.
Juli 1997 "Turn my Head" is released. This single is not the success
the first two singles of this album are. For now we are not really expecting
anything for a while, because Live is still touring are hopefully
recording their next album. This will take a while, as we know from
earlier albums. We are waiting...
